"Teaching On The Fly"

an educational program of The School of FlyFishing

The School of FlyFishing offers a unique training/teaching program enabling institutions large and small to provide a tangible, cost-effective benefit to their key personnel.  Providing the chance to learn the fundamentals necessary to enjoy the lifetime rewards of fly fishing is a valuable benefit.  Couple that with the convenience of having such instruction provided on your premises (or nearby) is truly a unique organization function. We call this service,
"Teaching on the Fly."

Whether your objective in hosting a course is to "teach the teachers", as a bonus for accomplishment, a "perk" for performance or as a team-building effort, recipients will gain knowledge and skills that are not similarly available elsewhere. They will appreciate their learning experience and be able to use their knowledge in the institution as well as for the rest of their lives in a positive, life-long outdoor activity.

Our faculty comes to you

Personalized training is provided to 6 to 12 participants of your choice at the location of your choosing. Our faculty comes to your "students." You needn't send them anywhere. 2 days of "hands-on" instruction will result in knowledge and skill development that might otherwise take 10 years to acquire. It is the easiest, most efficient way to learn how to fly fish. Enrollees learn . . .

Everything needed for the coursework is provided. Each student receives: 2 days of hands-on instruction; audiovisual & training aids; "Student Handbook: A Guide To The Fundamentals of Fly Fishing"; "Learn How To Fly Fish" CD-ROM, "Streamside Reference Guide"; use of graphite fly rod, reel, line, leader (which the student may purchase at a savings at the close of the course at their option.)

Prefer OFF-SITE?. . . it's still your course

If you prefer, arrange a private school "Off-site" in South Dakota's Black Hills, central Minnesota, southwest or northwest Montana, or Nebraska, where we will provide tailor-made arrangements to suit the needs of your institution. These out-of-the-way sessions include quality lodging, meals, conference facilities, and everything necessary to learn how to fly fish. These are truly "learn-by-doing" fly fishing outings held in top notch fly fishing locales.
