Curriculum Description

     The "Learn How To Fly Fish" curriculum was designed to be comprehensive yet easy-to-use.  You’ll find not only is the information beneficial for the beginner it is quite relevant to the needs of the advanced fly fisher as well.

     Composed and written from an educational perspective, the curriculum is presented in a logical format, organized in a manner well-suited for middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities.  It consists of a compendium of 10 interrelated “disciplines”: Knots, Equipment, Fly Reels, Fly Lines, Leaders, Fly Rods, Insectology, Flies, Fish, and Casting.

     The School of FlyFishing also provides important educational tools and equipment available in a complete package or by individual elements based on the specific needs of each institution.  Select from a variety of options to meet goals, objectives, budget and anticipated student enrollment 

    The complete curriculum is composed of :

  • Textbook . . . The School of FlyFishing publishes the 295 page curriculum in a spiral bound, black & white textbook:  "Learn How To Fly Fish: Student Handbook: A Guide To The Fundamentals of Fly Fishing"
  • CD-ROM . . . The complete course curriculum is also available on CD-ROM for Windows: "Learn How To Fly Fish."  This Windows-based reference opens in any browser and includes 600 pages, all in full color.
