ABOUT US...
Dana and
Katie Cole are the principles in The School of FlyFishing.
They are a Father/Daughter team that are committed to bringing
new entrants into the sport of fly fishing.
Dana C.
Cole, a life-long fly fisherman with over 55 year’s experience,
started The School of
FlyFishing in 1998. Having been taught by his father and
grandfather, he has had the good fortune of fly fishing since
the age of 8. Mr. Cole's company, Grande Domain
Retreats Fishing & Hunting Lodges, owned
and operated properties across North America that offered
some of the finest freshwater angling in the world.
Dana has fished in all
the Canadian provinces, and many of the states in the US with
flowing water. He is the author of the School's
textbook:
"Learn
How To Fly Fish: Student Handbook:
A Guide To The Fundamentals
of Fly Fishing" and
its companion version on DVD-ROM:
"Learn How To Fly Fish."
His
daughter
Katie Cole, is the
Education Director for the school. She also teaches in The
School's Outdoor Courses. Katie has been fly fishing since
early childhood, having learned from her father, grandfather and
great-grandfather. She has caught Bluegill and Green
Sunfish; Largemouth, Smallmouth and Rock Bass; Rainbow, Brown,
Brook and Cutthroat Trout; Northern Pike, Walleye and frogs on a
fly.
She
graduated from Prescott College,
Arizona, with a degree in
